Despite the not-so-friendly weather, we managed to have BBQ, tennis and AGM! We hope you will give us your continued support. Sydney is hosting the 2008 Fil-Oz National Games. Events planned include: Teams Basketball, Golf, Tennis, & Ten-Pin Bowling. New Zealand Pinoys, pinoys from Papua New Guinea and Singapore are also invited. Players from Singapore joining this will be billed in paid accomodation or family homes. If you are interested in joining this tennis team, pls contact: Raymond Palomares (91847243) on or before 20 February to firm up travel arrangements.
"NASA Fil-Oz National Games and Fil-Oz National Basketball League national delegation will be provided with the cheapest subsidised accomodation in Sydney that we can provide. A booking for 100 - 200 players and party has been made for 3 nights (Good Friday / Sat / Sun) with Continental Breakfast for $120 per person (Dorm Style much better) not Backpacker. During Games lunch players / party will be provided in the venue. Easter Sunday Night Award / Dinner Presentation will be part of their itinerary."
FTC Men’s C Emerged Runners-up (#2) in the 2007 Men’s “C” STA ICDL Event
Every year, the Singapore Tennis Association (STA) organises the STA ICDL (Inter Club Doubles League) for different levels of club play. FTC sent 4 teams (Men’s B, C, D and Ladies’ A team) in the October-November 2007 league. This year, only the FTC Men’s ‘C’ managed to compete in the finals and they emerged runners-up, losing to Farah Club.
Team Captain Shan Andes (assisted by Raul Alenton and Jojo Prado) and the FTC Men’s “C” players (Eric Tomboc, Dexter Salise, Joey dela Cruz, Loic Deniel, Phol Asuncion, Dan Donaire, Jaime Baring, Joel Escoto and Harold Lavidez) have not really been together for so long and yet, their teamwork, determination and hard work made them reach their goal of making it in the finals. The players were a bit disappointed when they did not win in the finals. It is OK, Shan and Team. You made us proud by ensuring FTC is in the championship!
The other men and ladies’ teams fought hard in the league but they were not so lucky. The FTC Ladies’ “A” team under the captainship of Leilani Anstey (assisted by Thata Rueping) did well in the A group, having won many matches and even beating tough clubs during the league. This is the ladies first foray in the A grade and yet, they have proven that they are “on par” and can survive the tough matches in the A level.
Well done, FTC! Thank you very much for all the members who have sacrificed their time to play for the club.
After much delay due to rain and travel plans of key players, FTCs Second Annual Tournament 2007 was completed last September 22, 2007 with much fun fare and the much anticipated finals of key matches. This event attracted 144 players. This All Doubles Tournament was organized for various levels of play and in preparation for the STA Interclub Doubles League commencing in October 2007. Congratulations to all the winning pairs. A big thank you to the organizing committee -- Ernie S, Raymond P, Raul A, Marvin A, Ronnie R, Eric G -- and all supporters and friends.

ricpinto : About coaching with pay, do it discreetly. It's against the law. You must be a license coach before you can legally accept money. So if you do, just do it quietly and inform your student the situation.
