Handog sa Kapwa Pilipino 2007

December 12th, 2007

“Handog sa Kapwa Pilipino”
FTC (Singapore) Community Outreach Program, 20th November 2007

FTC President Raul Alenton led about 20 FTC officers, members and guests to distribute goodie bags to ‘center girls’, numbering about 56. A special program prepared by Babes Evangelista included a dance number of Filipino teenagers much to delight of the audience. An inspirational speech of Chi Ching touched the hearts of everyone when she mentioned that “it is better to forgive and forget and to move on …. and have a blessed Christmas holidays back home with their loved ones.” Representatives from the Philippine Embassy (Ate Luth & Ate Soc) also gave their speeches encouraging the center girls to tell their friends in the Philippines about the real life in Singapore before deciding to work here. As a token of appreciation, the center girls sang a medley of X-mas carols. Of course the program will not be complete without the dancing and the fun games prepared.

This is the 3rd year that FTC has visited the center and the FIRST of a series of visits by various organizations in Singapore. Lots of food have been prepared (too much rice this year because last year, there was little rice and in 2005, too little food) much to the enjoyment of everyone.
